Voicing the Mosaic

Voicing the Mosaic was a 2007 collaborative student-community installation and performance art project at Simon Fraser University Surrey.  Under my direction, undergraduate students and a graduate research assistant collected letters, video-interviews, and journal entries from immigrants and refugees about their experiences of language and identity in the context of Canada's official bilingualism.  These first-person accounts were subsequently transformed into a student-built installation and student-performed scenes exhibited and performed for the SFU and extended community.
